The drought of 2011 was especially hard on Texas lakes, leaving boats dangling uselessly in their slips, and marinas high and dry.
Lake Livingston was no exception. At Broken Arrow Lodge & Marina we had our share of problems, but thankfully – with a little help from our friends – we were able to dredge our pier and boat launch, and kept access open to Kickapoo Creek and Lake Livingston.
In retrospect – perhaps the drought wasn’t all bad. Dredging is a necessary chore that may have been made somewhat easier by the low water levels.
Of course the lake levels recovered, and while we can’t say we’re thankful for the drought of 2011 – at Broken Arrow Lodge & Marina, we are thankful it’s done.
